Is there an urgent care clinic in Scarborough?
No, there’s no urgent care clinic in Scarborough itself. The nearest is St John Urgent Care at Osborne Park, at 435 Scarborough Beach Road. It’s open 8am to 9pm every day, walk in only, with X-ray and pathology on site, on (08) 9267 8600. Worth knowing before you go: St John Urgent Care is not bulk billed. There’s no hospital in Scarborough. WA Health’s emergency departments for this side of the city are Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Nedlands for adults (Hospital Avenue, 24 hours, (08) 6457 3333), Perth Children’s Hospital for children on the same QEII campus, and Joondalup Health Campus to the north (Cnr Grand Boulevard & Shenton Avenue, (08) 9400 9400). Osborne Park Hospital has no emergency department and no urgent care clinic. It provides rehabilitation, aged care, elective surgery and maternity services only.
In an emergency department, the less urgent your problem, the longer you can expect to wait. Urgent care closes at 9pm. For an illness that a GP clinic would treat, we come to you instead, including the hours when urgent care is closed. No drive and no waiting room: you wait at home. For a home visit we keep you updated on when the doctor will arrive, and for telehealth we book you a consult time.
