Dr John Kitchin

Dr John Kitchin is a highly experienced Geriatrician with over 20 years of dedicated care for older Australians. Born and raised in Western Australia, he completed his medical degree at the University of Western Australia in 1994 and initially trained as a General Practitioner, earning his Fellowship in 2002 before specialising in Geriatric Medicine.
For the past two decades, he has worked as a consultant geriatrician across Western Australia, providing expert care in hospitals, and outpatient services throughout the Perth Metropolitan, Peel, and Harvey regions.
He is passionate about helping older Australians live independently at home for longer through rehabilitation and telehealth services, and integrated care. He works closely with Home GPs and mobile health services, providing telehealth geriatric services to make specialist support more accessible to older adults along with their families and carers.
His special interests include the management of Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease, focusing on personalised, evidence-based treatment to enhance quality of life.
Outside of medicine, he has a keen interest in architectural heritage, local history, building restoration, and enjoys running in his free time.
